The past few years there has been a massive rise in demand for web hosting. Due to this, many of the new start up web hosts have been unable to deal with demand of new websites and services people expect to be offered.

Technical support lacking or very poor
This is by far the most common complaint we hear, many hosting companies still to this day outsource all their technical support! Yes, it is much cheaper for them, but I think in the long run it costs them far more business as it turns into utter chaos. Outsourced teams are never really kept up-to-date and they usually become mere parrots reading off canned responses that you’ve read on the FAQ section of the website a million times. If you host is particular bad in their technical support, you lucky to get hold of one of these consultants and instead you are forwarded to voicemail with a message asking to leave y our name and number. Rarely are these calls ever returned.
Reliability and Performance
The second most common complaint comes from users experiencing slow loading websites, or websites that just don’t load at all. Many hosts mention everywhere on their sales pages that they offer 99.9% uptime, what they don’t tell you is that they don’t include hardware failure, and software upgrades into this. Hardware failure is often common amongst these hosts as they try and squeeze as many clients on to one server, pushing the server far beyond the limits it was designed for.
Long delays after signing up
A lot of hosts are all to quick to get your credit card details, and sign you up as quickly as possible. Once you’ve made payment, which is often for 1 year or 2 years worth of hosting, you pretty much stuck as these shoddy hosts will make it as difficult for you to leave, transferring your domain name can often be painful and slow. These hosts know they don’t offer quality service, and know they will never get repeat customers. This is why they don’t spend any money on after sales support as to them it is a complete waste of money.
