Ruby Scripting Language
Ruby is a dynamic scripting language. It can be used to program all sorts of flexible and versatile operations, which include parsing text files to performing complex database manipulations. This language is a complete object-oriented programming which was invented by a Japanese programmer: Yukihiro Matsumoto. It was released in 1995, as an alternative to Python and Perl. The structure of Ruby is logical and very well laid out, thus making is extremely easy and fun to learn. Ruby has taken all the best features that made up SmallTalk, and removed all the uncomfortable and complex code, and replaced it with something more conventional. Ruby main focus is on simplicity, yet it is also considerd as flexible and powerful as most other languages you may be already using. Ruby requires the absolute minimum amount of coding to get a task done, meaning it’s a utilitarian language.
The interpreter shell is where programmers, and newbie’s alike can experiment freely with the language, and is considered one of Rubys greatest features. This allows any programmer to view and evaluate the efficacy for any given task in real-time. This is an excellent why oh preventing being held up with code that doesn’t work, by trying it out before hand, quickly and simply.
